At last the shocking truth is revealed. If you aren’t familiar with Gil, the girl with the black hair, click her name in the tag list.

This scene is a combination of a couple trips to visit the real Code of Hammurabi at the Louvre. The first time we went, my friend insisted on taking a cheesy photo of  herself in front of it. The second time, I was with another friend, and we saw that museum guard, too, a gorgeous black man with long dreadlocks.

Ah, the Code of Hammurabi. Perhaps one of the only things (Prodigy and) I remember about Babylonian art history. What was it Colbet said about it in  “I am America” ?

The first of 5 new pages, to be posted all this week. This post marathon coincides with Nickelodeon’s Avatar marathon, which is keeping me quite busy.

Prodigy drifts along with the various strange inhabitants of Gardner’s City. A certain jacket appears behind her in all three frames. Who could it belong to?

Apparently Prodigy has the powers of Catgirl.

I went with baby jesus because he was recieved well, and also the monk-man, because I just like him. Kind of rushed through the rest of the backgrounds. 5 pages to go.

Prodigy has a certain powers she isn’t aware of yet. So, in a life-or-death situation, she does what anyone would do–she panics. Time for a miracle.

Who are your two favorite characters from the crowds on this page? I need two to re-draw on the next page. Note Picasso’s dancer, Manet’s bartender, a nun, a Madonna and Child, a Crusader, and one loooong word bubble.

Change of plans! I’m going to have an artist table at MetroCon in Tampa coming up. I’ll be there on Saturday the 19th if anyone is going. Come say hello to me! I plan to finish this chapter before the con, so look forward to new pages soon.

Whoa, like OMG, page 11! I took my time finishing this. And I think I’m going to continue to work on the next page until I feel it’s complete.

So there isn’t very much art history on this page, except maybe the geisha on the street. This page does, however, demonstrate my stellar talent of drawing action. And windowpanes. Yaaagh!

I’m going on vacation for a week so this might be the last we see of Prod until after I get back. Oh, no, what will happen to her next?

This is the last page I did at school. All future pages were done during the summer.

Notice the thief-boy running from an old man in the bottom panel. Also some Bosch, Delacroix, Manet, and Da Vinci if you look reeeeaally close.

Gardner City, detail view. It’s a jumble of a lot of things. But not many things are hidden from view, so it’s actually a very simple place.
